At 180 square kilometers, Salt Spring is the largest of the Gulf Islands north of Victoria and is accessible by ferry from the mainland or Vancouver Island. Salt Spring consists of three communities, Ganges, Fulford, and Vesuvius.
One of Salt Spring's biggest attractions is the local art scene. To see the many art galleries take the self guided Salt Spring Studio Tour. Free maps are available at the tourism information centers.
The mild climate in Salt Spring along with Ruckle and Mount Maxwell Provincial Parks plus the Gulf Islands National Park provides plenty of outdoor recreational activities from kayaking to hiking and biking.
Salt Spring offers numerous accommodations to suit every taste, from quaint bed and breakfasts to vacation rentals such as guest houses plus cabins and cottages. Hotels in Salt Spring have amenities such as spa services, fine dining plus wellness and relaxation.
Salt Spring has a wide array of food and beverage establishments. Enjoy breakfast at a local café or coffee house in the morning, dine in one of the restaurants or visit one of the pubs for some late night action.
