Montana Wilderness Association
Founded in 1958, the association aims to protect and preserve all of
Montana's remaining wild lands and naturally functioning ecosystems. From
May to October, their volunteers lead over 100 hikes in Montana that are
free and open to the public. They are popular, so reservations are required.
Some are suitable for children with adult supervision. Contact the
association for a copy of their "Wilderness Walks" brochure.
Montana Native Plant Society. Box 8783, Missoula, MT 59807. Local chapters of the society run field trips in summer. These are often free and available to the public. Write for details.
