Columbia Cascades Cluster
Twenty units of the National Park System in Washington, Oregon and Idaho make up the Columbia Cascades Cluster.

Mountain Pass Road Reports

North Cascades Conservation Council
Organized in 1957 to "protect and preserve the North Cascades' scenic, scientific, recreational, educational, and wilderness values" , the council generates programs to keep government officials, environmental organizations, and the general public informed about issues affecting the Greater North Cascades Ecosystem. Action is pursued through legislative, legal, and public participation channels to protect the lands, waters, plants and wildlife.

North Cascades Institute
The Institute provides field-based environmental education about the natural history and culture of the Pacific Northwest.  Web site offers information about the institute's history, news, natural history seminars, educational programs and publications.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Snowater Resort
Resort is situated on 20 acres of natural park land surrounded by the Nooksack River and National Forest.  The facility features an all-electric, two-story, two- bedroom, two-bath townhouse accommodations with fireplace; washer/dryer; complete kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, range and frig; and a furnished balcony.  The resort is located 34 miles east of Bellingham WA on the Mt Baker Highway, approximately 2 hours north of Seattle and east of Vancouver, Canada. Nearby facilities include restaurants, bistros, live entertainment, hiking trails, fishing, downhill and cross-country skiing.

Dog Sledding

Hiking

Pacific Crest Trail - Northern Washington Section
A guide covering the Pacific Crest Trail as it traverses the North Cascade Mountains in the state of Washington.  This section of the Pacific Crest Trail runs 70 miles between Interstate 91 at Snoqualmie Pass and Route 2 at Stevens Pass. Generally it would take an average of five to seven days to hike this entire section. The hiker will pass a half dozen classic high alpine lakes each day along the trail, each one a prime destination in itself.
