Chelan is a resort community offering boating, fishing, golfing and
bicycling rentals. Located on the beautiful Lake Chelan, the main
attractions come from the spectacular lake. there is also plenty of
swimming and hiking to be had in the area. Daily ferries chart the full
course of the 55-mile long lake leading up to the scenic, remote
community of Stehekin.
The township of Chelan lies at the tip of Lake Chelan. The Cascades map (right) will help you locate it.
RoadMain routes in are US 97, WA 151, and US 2 from the southeast. Closest Interstate is I-90 to the south.
The daily Amtrak passenger service, the Empire Builder, runs between Seattle/Portland and Chicago. Nearby depot is 45 miles south in Wenatchee. From Wenatchee, the LINK Transit system provides bus service to Chelan daily, except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. There is a $1 fee for riding the bus, exact change. If you ask, they will stop at the Lake Chelan Boat Company, otherwise the main stop is in town, near hotels and motels. Call 509-662-1155 for schedules and information. Inquire about luggage restrictions. Link asks that groups of people who will be using their service from Wenatchee to Chelan call them ahead of time and make arrangements.

Chelan State Park
The lake is deep; much of it is one third of a mile deep, with the bottom
below sea level. The park offers 127 standard sites, 17 utility sites, 4
comfort stations, 52 picnic sites, a picnic shelter, playground equipment,
bathhouse, 300 linear feet of beach, boat launch and dock, water ski floats,
2 residences, garage, homestead cabin, contact station, trailer dump.
