Park in Alberta, Canada, to form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park,

Getting to Glacier National Park
Road
Main routes in are from the
east or west via US 2, from the east via US 89, and from the south via US 93. The
primary route between Canada and America is Chief Mountain International Highway, which is
closed to winter travel.
Air
Glacier Park International Airport is 25 miles west of West
Glacier. Services include Big Sky Airlines, Delta Airlines, Horizon Airlines
and Holman Aviation (private charters). The airport at Great Falls is 197
miles east of West Glacier. Rental cars are available at both airports.
Buses
and Shuttles to the Park
Glacier Park
Inc. (GPI). Provides shuttles from one lodge to another. Please call ahead
as a minimum number of passengers may be requires. Phone: 406-892-2525.
Rail
The daily Amtrak passenger
service the
Empire Builder,
which runs
between Seattle/Portland and Chicago, follows along the southern boundary of
Glacier National Park. It stops at East Glacier (Glacier Park Station,
summer only), West Glacier (Belton Station), Essex and Whitefish.

Getting Around Within the Park
GPI park shuttles operate from one lodge to another. These shuttles take time, however, because of their many stops. Also, some shuttles may require a minimum number of passengers before they travel at all. Therefore you may want to inquire ahead of time by calling GPI at 406-892-2525.
