Ride With Me, Mariah Montana
by Ivan Doig
November 1991, reprint edition, Paperback, (fiction)
With a plot that involves a road trip in which the main characters intend to document Montana's centennial celebration, you are guaranteed to get a good feel for the place in an easy read. The language used by the characters is fascinating, although I found each did not have a distinctive voice. Doug writes from the heart and has a fine sense of history, and this well-researched novel is the final volume in his McCaskill trilogy.
