April 16 - Festival,
International Choral Festival
Every year the International Choral Festival Is held In either
Canada or the USA. This year our own
Leavenworth Village Voices bring the festival here!
Enjoy seven great choirs performing separately and together In a
Grand Finale.
May 6 - 8 - Festival,
Leavenworth Spring Bird Festival
Experience a weekend celebrating birdsong and exploring the natural
world through birding, geology, wildflowers
and conservation. Art exhibits showcase local
talents and a songbird concert at Canyon Wren
Recital Hall caps off a weekend to delight the
senses. The Leavenworth area features
spectacular habitats, ranging from snow-
capped mountains to sunny pine forests,
attracting a wide variety of birds. Guided
trips and activities range from leisurely
strolls to active hikes and most events are
free. Sponsored by North Central
Washington Audubon, the US Forest Service, US
Fish & Wildlife, Upper Valley Arts,
Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce and the Icicle
Fund.
May 13 - 15 - Festival,
Maifest
Celebrate spring in Bavaria! Enjoy entertainment all weekend. Experience
the Grand Parade, live entertainment,
traditional German dancing including the
Maipole Dance. Stroll through the Bavarian
Village of Flowers, visit Art in the
Park, all our great shops and restaurants and
tap your toes to oompa music!
May 21 & 22 - Event,
Riverfest
River play and educational festival. White water kayaking, flat-water
family boats, raft and kayak down river.
June 4 & 5 - Festival,
Leavenworth Wine Walk
Stroll through Leavenworth, enjoy entertainment at the gazebo.

June 11- Event, 10th
Anniversary of the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum
The only nutcracker museum In the USA (one of two worldwide), the
Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, a National Heritage Foundation,
celebrates its 10th Anniversary. View
over 5,000 nutcrackers dating back to the 14th
Century! There will be a Book signing of "The Art
and Character of Nutcrackers" with
Arlene Wagner, the Nutcracker Lady.
June 11 - Event,
The Great Bavarian Walk
The Great Bavarian Walk raises awareness and money for
autoimmune disease research. A family
walk In and around Leavenworth. People of all
ages are encouraged to join the fun!
Several lengths of walks are offered with
education, contests and food events as
part of the day. Entry Forms available
beginning In January. Sponsored by Pat's Fund.
June 23 - 25 - Festival,
Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration
Accordion music at its finest: jazz, popular, classical, ethnic and
everything in between pulses through the village as musicians
(children through seniors) and music
lovers flock to Leavenworth to compete for
awards and cash, attend workshops, jam
sessions, a film/video series, parade down
Front Street and enjoy four nights of
concerts and dances with world class
musicians.
July Weekends - Festival, 11th Annual Icicle Creek
Chamber Music Festival
Icicle Creek celebrates its 11th Anniversary with this year's Chamber
Festival. Chamber music is offered Friday and Saturday evenings
and Sunday
afternoons. Resident Icicle Creek Musicians are joined by
guest artists. For detailed program
information call the Center office.
July 4 - Festival,
Kinderfest
A festival for families and children in the pursuit of fun with lots to
see and do for everyone. Face painting,
hands-on exhibits, giant inflatable
games, a petting zoo and surprises. Free popcorn, snow
cones, balloons and beverages for all
children.
July 8 & 9, 2005 Festival, Polka-Rama
Enjoy two wonderful days of continuous live music. Dance the Polka,
Waltz and Schottische on our
Festhalle's wooden dance floor. Dance to the
music of "The Pickled Herring Band"; Marliss
Olson's "Dynamic Trio" and Bob Otto's
"Polka Pals". Don't know how to dance? No
problem! Leavenworth's "Edelweiss Tanz
Gruppe" will give free Polka dance lessons one
hour each day. Other activities include: A
variety of German food and beverages and
unique Arts & Crafts.

Acoustic Music Festival
Acoustic folk, jazz, bluegrass, Celtic and more is performed in a
beautiful outdoor setting. Bring a blanket, a picnic lunch and enjoy a

Leavenworth Wine Tasting Festival
Sponsored by the Cascade Foothills Farmland Association. Enjoy
tasting
the wines of premier Washington State vineyards in a
country setting while browsing art booths and listening to great live
music.
Sept. 6 - 11 - Event,
Spaziergang Durch Quilts in Leavenworth (Meander
Through Quilts in Leavenworth) Familie Ereiqnise and
Produktions von Leavenworth are hosting this 10th
Annual Quilt Show. Meander through quilts 9/6 - 9/11 with Free Admission
10 a.m. through 5 p.m. There will be a Grand Showing 9/9 - 9/11 with a
$5 admission Fri & Sat 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Merchants'
Mall and Demonstrations will be held 9/9 - 9/11.

Festival, Wenatchee River Salmon Festival
Celebrate the annual return of the salmon to the Wenatchee River
with hands-on activities, educational exhibits, entertainment, arts
and
crafts and more!

Washington State Autum Leaf Festival
Celebrate the area's spectacular fall foliage! Enjoy
the Grand Parade at noon on Saturday. Continuous entertainment,
food booths and activities
for the whole family.

Oktoberfest
Celebrate in Leavenworth, the ideal setting for you and your family
to
enjoy the great tradition of Oktoberfest! Live music, German food
and beer,
Arts and Crafts, used Bavarian clothing sale, musical
groups from Germany and
the US and a traditional Oktoberfest
Procession.
Nov. 25 - 27 - Event,
Christkindlmarkt
Modeling itself after the open-air Christmas markets in Germany, the
market presents the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional
market. Entertainment, vendors' booths and a children's lantern
parade.
Dec. 3 - 4, 10 - 11 & 17 - 18 -
Christmas Lighting Festival
Visitors come back year after year for this famous Leavenworth
festival. Fridays the town is in darkness awaiting Saturday's
festivities. The
aroma of food booths and roasting chestnuts fills the
air; holiday music from
the gazebo encircles the village while
youngsters sled in the park; holiday personalities stroll the streets;
Santa, St. Nick and Father Christmas provide photo opportunities
and sleigh rides are minutes away. At dusk
everyone gathers to sing "Silent Night" and witness the lighting of the
village as it is transformed into a magical wonderland of lights.
Dec. 17 - Event,
Starlight Lantern Parade
Make or buy your Bavarian lanterns and gather at the gazebo in
Front
Street Park at 6 p.m. and proceed to the Nazarene Church for
the first
performance of the Living Nativity. Free cookies and hot
chocolate at the church.
Dec. 17, 20 & 21 - Event,
Living Nativity
Enjoy an outdoor live enactment of the nativity complete with live
animals. Open to the public at 7, 7:30, 8 and 8:30 p.m.
