Festivals and Events

Fourth of July Festival
This annual two-day event features a street fair, live auction, vendors and a stunning fireworks display at the Hoodsport Marina.

Outdoor Recreation

Located on the northwest side of Harstine Island in South Puget Sound, Jarrell Cove has a variety of activities including hiking and biking trails, saltwater boating, diving, fishing, swimming and water skiing, clamming, crabbing, oysters, bird and wildlife viewing, amphitheater, badminton area, horseshoe pits and a volleyball field.

Lake Cushman
Located on the north fork of the Skokomish River, Lake Cushman is a lake and reservoir. This beautiful lake is a popular spot for fishing, boating and kayaking, as well as hiking.

Popular activities include beaches and dunes, hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, fishing, non-motorized boating, scuba diving, swimming, hunting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing OHV riding and scenic driving.

Olympic National Park
With the diverse landscape settings, Olympic National Park provides unlimited outdoor recreation. Winter offers activities such as snow skiing and snowshoeing. Summer offers hiking, backpacking, fishing, boating and birding.

Located 3 miles south of Hoodsport, Potlatch offers hiking trails, saltwater boating, fishing and swimming, diving, clamming, crabbing, oysters, sailboarding, bird watching, amphitheater and interpretive activities.

Skokomish Park has a freshwater shoreline with three boat-launch ramps ideal for boating, fishing and water skiing. Picnic sites plus a picnic shelter are available.

 Located on the south shore of Hood Canal, recreation at Twanoh Park includes hiking trails, saltwater boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing, crabbing, oysters, bird and wildlife viewing, badminton area, horseshoe pit, volleyball field and fire circles.
