Bicycling

Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club
A Seattle-area mountain biking advocacy group. Offers numerous bike rides, training "Boot Camps" and provides trip ratings.

Cascade Bicycle Club
The Club is based in Seattle, Washington, and serves 5,500 members throughout the Puget Sound region.  There are club rides virtually every day of the year, and are open to anyone wearing a helmet. Their most famous event is the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic (STP). Web site includes ride calendar and many bicycling stories.

Bellevue Sail and Power Squadron
Provides public instruction classes in safe boating in Seattle's Eastside area.  In addition to teaching public boating courses, Squadron members also participate in Advanced Grades and Elective Courses for their own education.

Diving

Emerald Sea Dive Club
Club members reside all around the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands and incorporate a broad spectrum of dive interests, levels of experience, certification and age groups.

Festivals & Events

Arlington Garlic Festival, Arlington, WA
Music abounds at the Arlington Garlic Festival, being held this year from August 11th, 2000 through August 13th, 2000. Also, the famous San Francisco restaurant "The Stinking Rose" will be a featured attraction.  

Seafair Festival
Seattle's and the Puget Sound's annual premier community celebration dating from 1950.   This month-long celebration of summer is usually held from the second week of July through the first week of August and features parades, art festivals, music festivals, fun runs, and more.  Main events include the Torchlight Parade, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels air show, and the Seafair Unlimited Hydroplane Race.
