Arboretum

Washington Park Arboretum
A 230-acre park on the opposite shore of Union Bay from the University of Washington which manages the arboretum. 5,500 species of plants and gentle pathways amid azaleas and rhododendrons, and the largest collection of Japanese maples in the U.S. Entrance is at Madison Street and Lake Washington Boulevard. Arboretum guides lead tours each Sunday at 1:00 p.m. from the Donald Graham Visitors Center, 2300 Arboretum Drive. The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture
This is part of the University of Washington's web site, and the Burke Museum is located on the campus at 17th Avenue NE and NE 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98195. Phone: 206-543-5590. The Museum contains nationally ranked collections in anthropology, geology and zoology, totaling over 3 million specimens.

Medicinal Herb Garden
Located on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, the Garden is a resource for herbalists, medics, and botanists. (Part of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine web site.)

Standing on the southwest corner of "Red Square" on the University of Washington campus, Meany Hall for the Performing Arts originally opened for the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition of 1909. Meany Hall is now considered one of the region's finest performance facilities.
