Deer Lodge offers year round recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiasts. Nearby Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest has a wide array of water activities such as fishing, boating and swimming, in the warmer months while the winter offers a variety of snow activities including cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Located in the northwest portion of the forest, the Pintler Ranger District has year-round recreational activities including hiking, biking and horseback riding trails, fishing, boating, water skiing and swimming in lakes and bays, hunting, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Georgetown Lake is a popular destination for its water recreation and nearby trails.
