[Note to writers/authors: This is a template web page for a travel article published on the Go Northwest! web site. Your article and accompanying information would replace all text in red. Text not in red is what would be on the usual travel article page. The article itself goes here.
Guidelines
Suggested length is 200 -1000 words. Up to three images no more than 10k each can be included. We prefer you to submit the text of your work in digital form, in the body of an email (not an attachment) to me at info@gonorthwest.com Images may be submitted as attachments, or if they are already up on the web, give me the URL where I can find them.
Suggested topics
We are seeking articles on cities, activities, attractions, accommodations, in British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Yellowstone Park. The aim is to inform and entertain the potential traveler to the Pacific Northwest. You might want to write about the outdoors, arts and music scenes, history, the weird and wonderful, dining out, a local personality, handy tips for new visitors, out of the way places, humorous stories, your own travel adventure etc. Have a look around this web site to get more insight into appropriate style and content.
Who can submit?
Anyone! We want to hear from people in whom the three interests - traveling, writing, and the Pacific Northwest - find a happy combination. You might be a student writer, freelance, professional, or (like me) have had no formal training as a writer and just want to share your local knowledge. We invite you to give it a go! (Just be sure to comply with the conditions set out below).
Why submit?
We do not pay for your work, but here's the deal for accepted submissions...
You get... published on this web. You could then add Go Northwest! to your resume. You also get a readership for your work, feedback on your work in the form of our own editorial revisions, and potential feedback from readers (we will include your email address with the article, if you desire).
We get quality content for our web site.
Webmasters please note: We also consider articles from other commercial websites (so long as the conditions below are met). Perhaps you would like to exchange articles, or post content on our site with acknowledgement. Please contact Jack to discuss an arrangement.
Conditions
All work must be the property of the person submitting the written work, as within copyright law. All work must not be published anywhere that would cause Go Northwest! to infringe copyright law in publishing the work. Published pieces remain the property of the author/web site, and are attributed to the author/web site. We reserve the right to make any editorial changes to pieces accepted for publication. (We don't expect to be too heavy-handed in this). You can request removal of your work from Go Northwest! at any time. Submission of any work does not guarantee publication. You will receive notification from us, either way.
Terms, conditions and guidelines are subject to change without notice.
Send questions and submissions to info@gonorthwest.com
We look forward to receiving your contributions, Jack High.
