The Cle Elum Ranger District, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, administers 25 campgrounds ranging in size from three to 120 units that are grouped into six general areas as follows:
Click on the links above to see listings for each of the areas.
The district's campgrounds accommodate a variety of styles of camping, including tents, trailers, motorhomes and pick-up campers. Some are designed to serve special uses such as off-road-vehicles and horses. Others offer covered picnic areas, group sites, boat launches, and playgrounds. None, however, have showers, electric or water/sewer hook-up facilities for RV's or trailers.
A few are available for advanced reservation by calling 1-877-444-6777. Reservations also may be made via this website: www.reserveusa.com.
The larger campgrounds, having central water sources and modern sanitation, require a fee. The smaller, more primitive campgrounds are free and provide a greater degree of solitude. Fees vary with the amounts and kinds of amenities. Also, there is a fee at all campgrounds for extra vehicles due to limited parking space.
Twelve campgrounds are currently operated by concessionaire under special-use permit. Concessionaires handle fee collection and compliance, maintenance and reservation site coordination. Campgrounds operated by concessionaire may be subject to price increase and/or state sales tax.
