Ken Wilcox Campground At Haney Meadows. 8 miles off U.S. 97 from Swauk Pass, on Road #9712, 40 miles east of Cle Elum. Fees: Northwest Forest Pass required, Day, $5; Annual, $30. Facilities: Tables, stoves, vault toilets, council area, horse tethering, loading facilities, non-potable water not guaranteed. Units: 19 camping sites. Activities: Camping, picnicking, hunting, hiking, horseback riding. Elevation: 5,500 feet. GPS: 47.3135; -120.535.
Lion Rock Spring. On Road #35, 23 miles north of Ellensburg. Fees: None. Facilities: Vault toilet, tables, benches, fire rings, stock water, no potable water. Units: 2, camping or picnicking. Activities: Viewing scenery, camping, picnicking, hunting, hiking, horseback riding, motorcycle riding nearby. Elevation: 6,300 feet. GPS: 47.2511; -120.582.
Mineral Springs. On U.S. Highway 97, 21 miles east of Cle Elum. Fees: Single, $11; Double, $22; Extra vehicle per night, $9. Facilities: Vault toilets, tables, stoves, fire rings, potable water, nearby restaurant/lounge. Units: 12 camping plus a group site that can be reserved for up to 50 persons. Activities: Camping, fishing, hunting and rockhounding within 5 miles. Elevation: 2,750 feet. GPS: 47.2899; -120.7.
Red Top. End of Road #9702, near Red Top Lookout, 28 miles east of Cle Elum. Fees: Northwest Forest Pass required, Day, $5; Annual, $30.
