Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier, an active volcano encased in more than 35 square miles of
snow and ice and rising to a height of 14,410 feet, is the centerpiece
of the 235,625-acre park established in 1899.

Chinook
Scenic Byway
This byway travels west to east from the glacier fed White River from
Enumclaw, up and over the Chinook Pass to the fertile valley of Naches.
Experience the views of Mount Rainier, dense forests, rocky ridges,
river canyons, basalt flow of the Columbia Plateau, subalpine meadows
plus waterfalls, lakes and streams. Allow 3 hours to drive the 85
miles/137 kilometers.

Located 18 miles east of Enumclaw off Highway 410 along the White River, Federation Forest is a day use park that consists of over 600 acres of old growth evergreens. Federation Forest is popular for hiking as there are 12 miles of trails, 3 interpretive trails, an interpretive center with a gift shop, book store and 4 picnic areas.

Located between the cities Auburn and Black Diamond, Flaming Geyser is best known for it's "geysers" or methane seeps. The Green River provides more than 3 miles of freshwater shoreline for whitewater rafting and tubing. There is even an area for remote control model airplane flying.

Located 11 miles northeast of Enumclaw, Kanaskat-Palmer is positioned on a small, low plateau in a natural forest setting with 2 miles of shorelines on the Green River. The surrounding area is rich in mining history as the area is still mined for coal. The Flaming Geyser Park is nearby.

Located north of Enumclaw at the western edge of the Cascade Mountains, this day use park is covered in forest and offers a freshwater shoreline on Deep Lake in the Green River Gorge. Grassy lawns are available for activities and picnicking. Nolte used to be a resort prior to being donated to Washington State.
