The Northwest Railway Museum consists of three depots; the 1890 Snoqualmie Depot, the Centennial Trail Exhibit, and Railway History Center. Ride the Santa Train from North Bend to Snoqualmie to visit Santa while enjoying some delicious snacks. Children receive a small gift. Visit the website to see other events, fares and routes.


Iron Horse State Park. 150 Lake Eastern State Park Road, North Bend, WA 98045. Phone: 360-902-8844.

Iron Horse was once part of the the Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul-Pacific Railroad. Over 100 miles of trails extend from Cedar Falls to the Columbia River, including the John Wayne Pioneer Trail. The park has high trestles that provides stunning views of the valley.

Open year-round, Olallie is located on the western slopes of the Cascades. There are two scenic waterfalls (Weeks Falls and Twin Falls) that are connected by an 80 foot bridge that you can hike to. There is access to Iron Horse Trail and an interpretive trail with signs depicting information about the Snoqualmie Wagon Road at the South Fork Picnic Area.

Mountains to Sound Greenway
This 100 mile long scenic by runs from urban Seattle to the small town of Thorp on I-90 through the Cascade Mountains. Along the route are numerous places for outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, biking and skiing. Visit historic towns, see beautiful scenery including forests and waterfalls. Plan on approximately 2 hours drive time with no stops or a full day if you choose to get out and explore
