Lummi Island is a quiet island easily accessible near Bellingham with beautiful vistas of the Salish Sea. The Island is home to a thriving artist community.
The island is named after Sir William Bellingham, the British Navy's storekeeper, who personally checked the supplies of explorer George Vancouver, prior to the captain's departure from England in 1791.
