Kneeland Park features a wooden play structure, green grass and restrooms. Popular for picnicking this park is conveniently located in Shelton's downtown area.

Overlook Park features a historic marker overlooking downtown and the mills.

Walker Park. 2400 SE Walker Park Road, Shelton, WA 98584.

Walker Park is a great location for picnics, weddings, reunions and other special occasions and offers a covered shelter, barbeque grills, picnic area, children's play area and restrooms. There is a trail to the beach which is part of the Cascadia Marine Park. Open March through October.

The Olympic National Forest, located on the Olympic Peninsula, consists of five landscapes including temperate rain forest, rugged mountain terrain, lowland lakes, rivers and saltwater beaches.

National Park

Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park is accessed on Highway 119 near Hoodsport and at 3 main points north of Shelton via highway 101. With nearly 100 percent of this park designated for wilderness this park's diverse ecosystems are well protected providing amazing beauty of the old growth forest, streams, mountain lakes, flora and fauna.

State Parks

Enjoy this forested park with a saltwater shoreline that is off the beaten path. Located on the northwest side of Harstine Island in the south Puget Sound, Jarrell Cove is accessed by road and bridge although most arrive by boat. This park manages five satellite parks: Eagle Island, Harstine Island, Hope Island, McMicken Island and Stretch Point.

Located 12 miles north of Shelton on Highway 101, Potlatch offers a saltwater shoreline on Hood Canal and is popular for kayaking, diving, windsurfing and kite flying. Interpretive programs are offered in the summer.

Located 12 miles north of Elma on the East Fork of the Satsop River and in the middle of Olympia and Ocean Park, Schafer Park is an ideal location for group gatherings. The Satsop River offers swimming and wading opportunities. Buildings in this park are made from the native stone.

Located 8 miles west of Belfair on the south shore of Hood Canal, Twanoh features one of the warmest saltwater beaches in Washington and is popular for shellfish harvesting.
