Camping on Blake Island, which is a state park, is located in three general areas of the park and includes 51 campsites. A five-mile trail traces the circumference of the island and links the three campgrounds with amenities at the islands onsite concession and entertainment venue, Tillicum Village.
Campsites located at the northeast corner of the island are situated close to the boat docks and Tillicum Village, providing easy access to dining and entertainment facilities. Flush toilets, a picnic area and a state park ranger station are nearby. Campsites along this shoreline afford an enviable view of the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound and are popular camping spots.
Campsites at the west side of the island also have flush and pit toilets and are about three-quarters of a mile from the boat docks. They face the Kitsap Peninsula and are the best choice for those who desire both to be close to amenities and enjoy the island's secluded beauty. A number of sites on the west side are reserved for kayakers and canoeists.
For those who aren't concerned about being close to amenities or flush toilets, there is a primitive campground at the south end of the island, about two miles from the docks. The campsites face Vashon Island and trails on the east and west banks offer a splendid view of Kitsap Peninsula and the South Seattle shoreline.
All campsites are available on a first-serve basis (except for one group site, which may be reserved). Amenities include protected fire pits, day-use facilities with two horseshoe pits and two volleyball fields, 1500 feet of boat moorage and boat pump-out facilities.
Camping is limited to a two-week stay during the summer and 20 days October to March. Up to eight people are permitted per site and pets must be kept on leash at all times.
