Warrenton is located in the northwestern tip of Oregon, bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Columbia River on the north.

The small coastal town Warrenton is named for an early settler named Daniel Knight Warren. In 1863 Fort Stevens was built in the area. The fort's remains are preserved as part of the Lewis and Clark National State Historical Parks.
