Joseph City Park. Located at the end of east Fourth Street, Joseph, OR. Phone: 541-432-3832.
One side of the city park is surrounded by a waterway making this an ideal place for weddings, reunions and other special occasions. Picnic tables, covered picnic areas, a large open play area and restrooms are also available.

Ride the gondola to the summit of Mt. Howard and enjoy the view of Wallowa Lake Village and Wallowa Lake. At the top you will find a restroom and food service and two miles of hiking trails. The gondola has ADA access.

Located in the historic First Bank of Joseph built in 1888, the museum contains artifacts from John Harley Horner, an early day assessor as well as former and current residents of Wallowa County.

The Wallowa-Whitman Forest consists of over 2 million acres of diverse landscape from subalpine wilderness areas to wild and scenic rivers. About 40 percent of the forest has been designated as a "special place". Explore Hells Canyon; North America's deepest gorge, Eagle Cap Wilderness; Oregon's largest Wilderness along with the beauty of the Blue Mountains.

Scenic Byway
Traveling through 11 communities, the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway takes
you from the edge of the Snake River pass valleys with the background of
the snow-tipped Wallowa Mountains. Enjoy the views of the basalt cliffs.
This byway can be driven in 5 hours to 2 days to fully experience the
beauty of this byway.
Iwetemlaykin State Heritage Site. Located off Highway 82 one mile north of Wallowa Lake on the south end of Joseph. GPS: 45.341634 N; -117.223683 W.
Iwetemlaykin, the Nez Perce name for the Wallowa Lake basin area, is part of the ancestral homeland of the Nez Perce Tribe. This is a sacred place to the Nez Perce Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The property sits adjacent to a Nez Perce National Historical Park which is the site of Chief Joseph's gravesite.

Located along the Wallowa River, this day-use site is a popular fishing spot, especially for fly fishing as you can wade in the river in many spots. Springtime offers beautiful flowers. A wildlife viewing area is also available.

This park is a gateway to the deepest gorge in North America, Hells Canyon. There are recreational activities for everyone including fishing and boating in the lake or riding a tramway to the summit of Mt. Howard. Enjoy the abundant wildlife in the area.
