Gifford Pinchot has unlimited recreational activities such as hiking and biking trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, water activities (canoeing, kayaking, rafting, boating and fishing) in one of the many lakes or rivers, horseback riding, camping and OHV riding as well as winter sports.

The White Pass Byway, 124 miles long, twists and turns through the forests of Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier National Park before ascending to Eastern Washington. This is a popular byway for exploring Mt. Rainier and Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and for viewing wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Rocky Mountain Elk, Mountain Goats and Bighorn Sheep to name a few.
