Central Wyoming

Central Wyoming, with so much to see and do, challenges visitors with its' many attractions and activities. The surrounding landscape goes from sage-covered plains to the tree-covered mountains of the Laramie Range. The region is famous not only for its historical significance but also for the wealth of its visitor friendly people.

Traversed by the North Platte River and the South Fork of the Powder River, the region played a major role in early American history as early settlers passed through the area on their way to California and Oregon. Attractions include historic 19th Century U.S. Army posts, Native American sites, museums and paleontological and archeological sites.

Central Wyoming has year round adventure activities for visitors ranging from hiking, fishing, big game hunting, river rafting, camping, snowboarding, snow shoeing and downhill skiing. Visitors seeking a taste of Western ranch life can choose from innumerable Guest and Dude ranches. Boaters will find several reservoirs, among them Glendo and Guernsey State Parks, for all manner of aquatic fun. Both Parks have camping facilities.

Central Wyoming offers numerous hotels, campgrounds and RV Parks. The area also boasts a vast array of dining options from pub grub to the very best in western cooking.
