Nez Perce National Historical Park has three sites used by the Lewis and Clark expedition - the Weippe Prairie (1805), Canoe Camp (1805), and Long Camp (1806). The Lolo Trail, the ancient travel route used by the expedition in 1805 and 06 is also included as a park site.
Location: Begins in Orofino at State Highway 7 and junction of Wells Bench Road. Length: 57 miles. Allow 2 hours one way
Northwest Passage Scenic Byway
Location: Begins in Lewiston and follows U.S. 12 northeast to the Idaho– Montana border; also follows Idaho 13 from Kooskia to Grangeville and the junction of U.S. 95. Length: 202 miles. Lewiston to Montana, 175.5 miles, allow 4 hours. Kooskia to Grangeville, 27 miles, allow 40 minutes.
