Activities

Greenwater has endless outdoor recreational activities. Hiking and biking trails wind through forests and follows rivers providing beautiful scenery. Four-wheel drive and motorcycle/quad trails are found nearby at Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Swimming, boating and fishing in the Greenwater and White Rivers are fun summer past times while snow skiing and other snow activities are found at Mt. Rainier National Park. Outdoor Recreation

Federation Forest State Park. 49201 Highway 410 E, Enumclaw, WA 98022. Phone: 360-902-8844.

Located 18 miles east of Enumclaw along the White River, Federation Forest Park provides ample hiking opportunities including 3 interpretive trails along with 12 miles of trails. The old growth evergreens offer bird watching and wildlife viewing. Interpretive activities are available May through September.

Located between Auburn and Black Diamond, Flaming Geyser Park offers  hiking trails that run through the forest and along the Green River, swimming, fishing or whitewater rafting and kayaking in the river. View the wildlife and birds in the forest or enjoy a game of horseshoes. Model airplane flying is possible in the open field. An open lawn area is available for softball and volleyball along with fire circles. Flaming Geyser Park is accessible year-round.

Located 11 miles northeast of Enumclaw and open year-round, Kanaskat-Palmer is a camping park sitting on a small, low plateau in a natural forest setting. Two miles of shoreline on the Green River provide rafting and kayaking (expert level only) and trout fishing. Boat and raft launching is by hand only.

Mt. Rainier National Park

The freshwater shoreline on Deep Lake is an ideal spot for swimming, fishing and boating. Horseshoe pits and a softball field are located on the grassy lawn. Hike the one mile path that winds around the water or choose another trail for hiking or biking.

Water Activities

Lonesome Lake
This lake provides swimming and boating opportunities in summer. A canoe jousting competition is held the third Saturday of August.

White River
This 75 mile glacial river flows from the Emmons Glacier on Mt. Rainier joining West fork of the White River just before reaching the Greenwater River at the town of Greenwater and ending at the Puyallup River at Sumner.
