The Islands Travel Region
Pender Island, British Columbia

Pender Island is one of the two Gulf Islands located on the southern Gulf Island. Pender's sub-Mediterranean climate and scenic land featuring ide open farmland, forested hills, several lakes, small mountains, coves and beaches make this a popular destination for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, boating and scuba diving. The Island also has a 9-hole golf course.

There are numerous shops, art galleries and restaurants on both the North and South Islands.

To get to the island you can ride the ferry (BC Ferries), take a seaplane or water taxi. Bedwell Harbour is an official port of entry for sailors from the United States. Port Browning and Otter Bay also offer anchorage services. Pender Island features a system of car stops that are conveniently located throughout the island. An alternative to hitch hiking, these "car stops" have posts with maps and often provide a chair.
