Mt. Baker Highway (State Route 542)

  • Douglas Fir Campground: Located on the west side of Mt. Baker Highway right after crossing the North Fork Nooksack River near mile post 35, this campground has 30 tent/trailer sites including 9 wheelchair assessable sites, picnic table and fire ring at each site, hand pump wells, vault toilets, historic day use picnic shelter and garbage service. Some of the sites can be reserved. Horseshoe Bend is a short trail accessed from the campground. There is a nearby launch site for kayaks and rafts. Nearest town is Glacier approximately 2.5 miles west. Elevation: 1,000 feet. GPS: 48.902025; -121.913303.
  • Silver Fir Campground: Located on the west side of Mt. Baker Highway right after crossing the North Fork Nooksack River near mile post 46, this campground has 20 tent/trailer sites including 3 wheelchair accessible sites, picnic table and fire ring at each site, water, vault toilets, garbage service and a historic day use picnic shelter. Some of the sites can be reserved. Nearest town is Glacier approximately 15 miles west. Elevation: 2,000 feet. GPS: 48.904702661557; -121.69671535491943.

Mt. Baker Highway (State Route 542) - Group Campground

Excelsior Group Campground: Located down and access road on the southside of the highway along the North Fork Nooksack River, this campground has 2 large sites with picnic shelter, picnic tables and fire pits. Site A accommodates up to 50 people and site B accommodates up to 75 people. Site B is more private and is accessed through Site A. There is potable water.
