Attractions

One of the main attractions in Glacier is the scenic Mt. Baker Highway. Another scenic drive is the Mountain Loop Highway where beautiful vistas, including waterfalls, can be seen. For more attractions, read the page below.

National Forest

Old growth forest located east of Seattle featuring scenic byways including the Loop Scenic Byway, lookouts, the Pacific Crest Trail, wilderness areas (Boulder River, Henry M. Jackson and Glacier Peak Wilderness) and a national recreation area.

National Park

The park is one of three units in the North Cascades National Park Service along with Ross Lake National Recreation Area and Lake Chelan National Recreation. This park lies in the northernmost region of the Cascade Mountains and contain wild and dramatic mountains with deep valley and steep slopes plus cascading waterfalls.

Scenic Byways

Cascade Loop Scenic Highway
440 miles of Washington's scenic and beautiful countryside, starting in Puget Sound and winding through the Cascade Mountains to the Columbia River Valley. The loop offers a range of outdoor activities from hiking and biking trails to lakes and to snow skiing. Length: 440 miles; 708.1 km. Time to Allow: At least one day and up to four days.

Mount Baker Highway
Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This journey begins west of Bellingham and winds up to Artist Point at the end of the highway. Travel along the Nooksack River to view the Nooksack Falls. Explore this scenic byway which is the only road to Mt. Baker. Length: 57 miles; 91.7 km. Time to Allow: 2 hours or more.
